Martine Wérotte
Artistic director, teacher and choreographer
Martine has been dancing since childhood, starting with international folklore before specializing in Balkan dances, which she loves for their musical richness. She also trained in classical ballet and contemporary dance with renowned teachers. In 1980, she discovered oriental dance and trained with masters such as Yousry Sharif, Mahmoud Reda, and Raqia Hassan. Passionate about Egyptian culture, she regularly travels to Egypt to deepen her knowledge.
With a solid stage experience, Martine performs in night clubs and on large theater stages. She is sought after by the media for her expertise and teaches in international workshops. An accomplished choreographer, she trains dancers who have become professionals, several of whom have won medals in competitions.

Sharqui Studio Leader in Oriental Baladi Dance in Montreal and Quebec
Baladi, or belly dance, has its roots in Egyptian folklore and has evolved over time to adopt different styles. This dance highlights the body, transforming it with grace and sensuality. Studio Sharqui offers a complete training, combining technique and creativity, allowing its students to develop their grace, coordination and well-being. The school offers classes for all levels, from leisure to semi-professional, while combining tradition and modernity in its choreographies and costumes.
